About Ron Weil

Not from theory. From experience.

Sparring partner for executives, management team members and business owners. Someone who has led, built and transformed organisations himself.

Who is Ron Weil

Helping others succeed

Most of the executives, management team members and business owners who come to me are intelligent, driven and full of good intentions. But they walk too far ahead of their troops. They see the future clearly, but their people only see their backs.

My vision is simple: helping others succeed. Not being the smartest person in the room, but making the people around you as good as they can be. That is what I regard as the highest form of leadership.

Coaching only works when there is a person across from you who truly sees you, who remembers the last time, and who has the courage to confront you. That is what I do. The people I coach can reach me 24/7.

“Stop walking ahead of your troops. Make sure your people actually come along with you.”

Executive coaching

A conversation without politics, without theatre and without detours.

As a sparring partner I act as a sounding board: I challenge your thinking, stimulate creativity, offer tools for complex situations and build confidence in your own judgement.

Together with the right personal chemistry, which is essential, a working partnership based on trust emerges. You take on bigger challenges with more confidence and skill, and achieve better results, for your organisation and for yourself.

After a non-binding introductory conversation, we start a focused programme of usually 3 to 6 sessions, online or on location, tailored to your diary and situation.

“The first conversation lasts 30 minutes. No obligations and no invoice. Afterwards you will know whether it fits, and so will I.”

Ron Weil regularly writes and speaks about leadership, boardroom dynamics and change.

“The average board chair is an introverted, anxious control freak”

Ron Weil was once a board member at Wolters Kluwer Professional Training. Now he is a sparring partner for executives and business owners. His recipe for better boardrooms begins with one word: ego allergy.

“Organisations resemble people: generally mechanical in thinking and acting, and hard to move towards unrestrained creating.”

Change is accelerating. Is your leadership style?

The world moves fast. The first car took us 50 years. Television conquered the world in 13. The internet took 4. TikTok: 9 months.

“Informal communication has taken over from formal communication. A leader who does not understand that loses the organisation, even while formally still at its head.”

Views

On leadership
“Connective leadership calls for a different style. Not commanding, but connecting.”
On organisations
“Arthritis in an organisation: the parts work fine, but the whole does not function. The problem always lies in the connections.”
On change
“Change only succeeds when people feel ownership. Not when they are given instructions, but when they have helped think it through themselves.”
On AI
“AI gives speed. Leadership gives movement. Without the second, the first is useless.”
On generations
“Give young people autonomy and real feedback. Not an annual appraisal, but a conversation next week.”
On ego
“Managers need to develop an ego allergy. Less ego makes the step to primus inter pares possible.”

Frequently asked questions

About executive coaching and my way of working

What is executive coaching and who is it for?

Executive coaching is guidance for executives, business owners and senior leaders who get stuck on questions they cannot discuss with their own organisation. Not about technique or strategy, but about leadership, behaviour and what is really going on. I work with people who operate at the highest level and are looking for a conversation partner without a political agenda.

What makes Ron J.C. Weil different as an executive coach?

I do not come from theory. I was President & CEO of Krauthammer International, active in dozens of countries, and as chair of the executive board at NOVI University of Applied Sciences I led a complete EdTech transformation. I recognise patterns quickly because I have lived them myself, at the level at which my clients work.

Which issues do you address in executive coaching?

Change that gets stuck on people and behaviour. Decision-making that does not get off the ground. Management team dynamics that slow things down instead of speeding them up. Ownership that is diffuse. And leaders who pull harder than the organisation moves along. Those are the issues I work with most.

How do you work, online or on location?

Both. I work online and on location, in the Netherlands and internationally. Conversations last 90 to 120 minutes. I work in programmes of 3 to 6 sessions: compact, focused and without unnecessary overhead. No reports and no external record.

Is what I discuss confidential?

Absolutely. Confidentiality is the foundation of every conversation. What you discuss with me stays with me. Always. That includes the fact that you are a client: I neither confirm nor deny it without your explicit permission.
